Go to Short Service Record Hi Brian, Back again, have finally collated information I gleaned from IGI, plus Jeanne Vincent of USA. Jeanne's husband is the great great grandson Charles John Vincent ( Sidwell's brother) his son Philip was Jeanne's husbands great grandfather, she didn't tell me her husbands's father's or her husband's names. If you look through the list of Charles John Vincent's children, you will see that he and his wife appear to have included certain second names. William gets ARTHUR, Henry gets JENKIN - is this because they are using second names as a way of recording family surnames. They also name one child Philip. If James Vincent and Sidwell Arthur are our John's parents, then James' father was PHILIP Vincent Jnr. From Charles' children's names I think we could be on a winner. Could the other names be for Mary Ann Odgers Family - There are an awful lot of Odgers down there in Budock. I reckon John Vincent probably had a finger in changing a, maybe mistakenly believed, dropped H! All that said, until I find the marriage between Mary Ann (H)Odgers and John Vincent, and or both their death certificates, we cannot prove a ruddy thing. But isn't that the joy of genealogy.

The answer was yes, but it is not a Kosbab family crest but the crest of the area where we believe we are from. Unfortunately the email address Kevin used is not working, so Kevin please contact me again. One of the comments I regularly receive is... 'Good Site but I found difficult to navigate' so, I have embarked on a new layout that hopefully will make it easier for everyone to get around. The navigation at the bottom of each page has been reduced and I have introduced an INDEX page, with descriptions of the contents of each page. I hope you all like it! Searching for Kosbab late one night! I can remember (not that long ago) when you could type in the name Kosbab and not get anything. Tonight I typed the name into an old source and was surprised (shocked) to see this: MetaSearchSurname

Notes: As a web designer I am always looking for ways that will increase traffic, but most importantly... make us laugh ! I have installed the following software on one of my biggest accounts to see how it goes... the personal touch ! Simple enough.. Click on the link and chat with me (on-line live) if I happen to be online. Go to the bottom of this (or any) page and click on the Chat to me LINK... Not a day goes by when another e-mail arrives sporting a new joke, so I have decided to include a 'JOKE OF THE MONTH' section into our web site. Go Here The major change you will see over the next few weeks will be our new... searchable Kosbab Family Tree with (believe it or not) 6,580 Individuals, 3,740 Families all associated with the Kosbab name. I have merged all the Kosbab GEDCOM files and converted them into web site files that can be viewed directly on our web site. Regardless of whether they are descendents or ancestors, find the name and then trace their associations up and down at will. The next step involved transferring all the research information from our web site into these files, so that everything will be contained in one simple (but large) file. If you want to see what has already been transferred Click Here. Unfortunately, some of the old links on this site will now not work, as I transfer data from the site into the tree, I am moving all the research material to one big (and long page). So, if a link does not work go to the Kosbab Research Archive page. Anyone who has searched for the Kosbab name will have found Bruce Kosbab. Some say that should have been my name (as I was born in Australia) but any way, we have all sent emails to good ol' Bruce without ever receiving a reply. Well I have... finally! He, or she, as it was Janice Kosbab who emailed me... I found they had just registered kosbab.com and it had a connecting email (bingo) She says that her mother possibly has some Kosbab info, so fingers crossed! I
have been asked many times, how is it that I have found things on the
internet, that you cannot. Well I use Copernic which searches all
the main search engines at the same time. It also now searches
newsgroups as well. Wendy Irene Kosbab - Born 9th October 1958 Passed Away 22nd November 1999 I would like to thank everyone for their kind words and sympathies. I know the hurt in my heart, so I can only imagine what it is like for my parents, family and Wendy's family 20,000 miles away in Australia. I hope everyone likes the new look web site. The old site was loading pages far too slowly and I wanted to incorporate our new Kosbab Coat of Web Page emblem. All new information will be summarized on this page with a link to it's location. Information will be classified by whether it relates to a Place of Origin or a Surname. Anyone interested in statistics? Our Web site stats for last week...
Amazing really! (our little Kosbab site being inspected by over 250 visitors in one week! |
